An agricultural company in Queensland, Australia, is forging ahead with their plans of producing Hemp as Medicine.

Owners Shane Garozzo and Joe Trimarchi of Trimpex International have started a new venture – a hemp program, that with the proper licences and permits, will allow them to grow hemp and process it into medicinal cannabis.

Trimpex International imported a substantial amount of hemp seeds which have been planted on approximately 70 hectares of land in various plots across Queensland. The predicted outcome is an average harvest of 70 to 100 tonnes of seed grain.

In addition to their current grow sites, they are looking to increase their yield by establishing hemp plots in northern New South Wales, Victoria, the Northern Territory and Western Australia.

Garozzo says he will work together with local police to eliminate any risks with regards to crop protection.
